Information on the IRS web site includes News For the Tax Professional and the IRS' Newsstand. You can also visit the News Releases And Fact Sheets section for the latest breaking information for media distribution.

Second only to the IRS' Digital Daily web site, Tax Analysts' TaxWire service provides continuously updated summaries of the latest tax news and documents from the United States and around the world. The full texts of documents featured here can be ordered from Tax Analysts' Access Service.

Every Tuesday, Tax Analysts' web site also provides  an in-depth news article from the staff of Tax Analysts in a three part feature series; Federal Feature, State Feature, and International Feature.

The third jewel in the triple crown of tax-based internet web sites, Ernst & Young's TaxCast, includes This Week in EY TaxCast, a weekly compilation of E & Y Tax Alerts, and the E & Y Tax Information Reporter, a monthly newsletter that provides sophisticated updates on current tax developments affecting information reporting compliance for corporate clients, banks, thrifts, brokers, insurance companies, and other entities.

RIA's web site includes high-level weekly analyses of recent  tax developments. In numerous instances, the articles appearing in RIA web site are synopses of articles that appear in their Federal Taxes Weekly Alert and State and Local Taxes Weekly.

Faulkner & Grey's The Electric Accountant Tax Center  web site includes the Electronic Accountant Newswire, a daily news service.

Price Waterhouse Coopers' presents its Tax News Network , which includes links to PwC's many tax publications." 

Deloitte & Touche's web site includes Tax News & Views a frequently updated service that is designed to present recent federal tax news.Although the web site notes only that the section is updated "frequently," one section, entitled Tax News & Views This Week, indicates that, at minimum, the web site is updated weekly.

Note: Deloitte & Touche gives visitors the opportunity to subscribe to their "Late Breaking News" e-mail alert and bulletin board service to keep track of updates.

Morrison & Foerster's web site includes a tax section that includes links to electronic versions of the law firm's print publications New York Tax Insights and State and Local Tax Insights. Transcripts of papers delivered at various tax conferences are also available from the firm's web site.

The New York Law Publishing Company web site, Law News Network Lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals might also be interested in the New York Law Journal and the National Law Journal. A special section on Law Journal Extra is devoted to tax developments, including Taxation Columns, a periodic column edited by Sidney Kess, and Tax News, which contains state and federal news stories appearing in the company's print products.

BNA's Tax Management Subsidiary's web site includes Tax News, which summarizes recent tax developments.

PPC's web site include the PPC Five Minute Update, which consists of electronic versions of its popular TaxAction Bulletins.

A non-profit organization, Tax Foundation's web site includes Tax Bites. Note: Tax Bites does not report recent tax developments. Instead, it appears to summarize tax trends (e.g., tax burden by income class; typical family burden, etc.).

The Villanova University's Tax Master is a gateway site, leading to several tax-related sites on the Internet.

PM&S web site includes State & Local Tax Bulletins, a compilation of articles on state taxation, with particular emphasis on California.  The main tax page for PM&S includes information about Federal and International taxes as well

KPMG's State and Local Tax Unit publishes its monthly Perspectives in State and Local Tax Newsletter in both HTML and Adobe Acrobat format.

The Grant Thornton accounting and management consulting firm website includes their resources in the area of Tax & Benefits.

The FTA web site includes State Tax Highlights, a bimonthly publication that provides readers with a national "snapshot" of state administrative rulings, court cases and legislative activities pertaining to state tax issues of concern to tax administrators across the country. (note: information on this site has not been updated since 1997) 

Spidell's web site includes California Tax Tidbits, which contains regularly updated summaries of current California tax news.

The AICPA web site includes a section on Online Publications (which includes electronic versions of its monthly Tax Advisor magazine). Although many of its publications are available only to AICPA members, you can review the Table of Contents of many of their products.

Lawyers Weekly publishes Lawyers Weekly USA and several state newspapers for members of the legal community, including: Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly;

Michigan Lawyers Weekly; Missouri Lawyers Weekly;

North Carolina Lawyers Weekly; Ohio Lawyers Weekly; Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly; and Virginia Lawyers Weekly. Although many of these publications require are available only to online subscribers, they are a useful source for news concerning tax litigation.

the web site of Vertex, a leading provider of automated tax compliance software and reference manuals, includes the CyberTax Channel, which monitors internet-based tax issues, and the Tax Cybrary, which includes Tax Outlook,  and Hot Tax Links.
